Take a mail break

You're in the middle of writing an e-mail, when you realize you need to check your eBay auction, answer the doorbell, or tend to some other matter. What do you do?
Nothing! Do whatever you need to do. When you're ready to finish writing your e-mail, just go to your Mail list and choose Write. You'll see the e-mail you were last working on.
